Wednesday 19 April 2017; Waking Faith By Steven Furtick - Your Vulnerability Is Connected To Your Value
2 Timothy 1:14
"Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you — guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us."
Do you ever feel vulnerable? Like maybe the devil picks on you just a little extra?
Most would assume vulnerability is a bad thing. But what I want to encourage you with today is the fact that vulnerability often signifies value.
For example, the nicest cars are the most likely to be broken into! Value creates — and indicates — vulnerability.
That's why, if your life is under attack right now, maybe you should take it as a sign that you're carrying something of value.
That's what is Paul is getting at when he tells Timothy to "Guard the good deposit," in the passage above. Paul knows the deposit that God has given to Timothy is valuable, purposeful, and powerful — and therefore, it’s naturally vulnerable to an attack from the enemy.
When you have a good deposit like Timothy did, you have to be on your guard. Because there is nothing the enemy would like more than to rob you of the deposit God has placed inside of you.
So the next time you feel vulnerable, the next time you feel like your life is under attack, the next time you feel your emotions starting to pull you down, recognize it for what it is. Let your vulnerability remind you of the value of the deposit. There is something good that God is trying to work out in your life. You wouldn't be vulnerable if you weren't valuable.
