Around: To reach a new place or position, typically by moving from one side of
something to the other.
Through:
Movement into at one side or point and out at another side especially the
opposite side.
In both contexts, we arrive at a new position, location, direction, or destination; but the difference is in how we get there. With the word Around, we get to a new location or place not necessarily on the opposite side it could be beside or adjacent by moving from outside. While with the word Through, we get to our new destination, especially the opposite end, by moving from inside.
I started with the definition and then the difference between these two words so we can; understand the winning process with God. God doesn’t just win for us; He shows us how to win and the process of winning; so that we can become winners ourselves. Most of the time, people want to win without actually going through the process of winning. We need to learn how to go through it, not around it!
I have discovered that being victorious and being a victor are two different things. Not every member of a winning team necessarily contributed to the plan that brought about that triumph. To be a victor, you must prepare to be involved in all the processes on the way to victory.
Sometimes God guides us through a difficulty rather than around it, not because He cannot take us around it; he can. He does this because guiding us through a circumstance teaches us how to conquer. Going through it gives us confidence for now, and the next time we are in a battle, it gets us prepared.
Deuteronomy 20 verse 1 {NKJV} says ‘’When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horse and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord, your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt’’.
In this verse, God did not just tell the Israelites not to be afraid but also He reminded them of their past victory. As a victor, the next time you are facing or are in a battle, have the confidence that you can win again. If you feel like you haven’t been in a war before or you feel you haven’t been winning in life, remember that Jesus already claimed the victory for us, He already won on the cross, and He just wants us to feel empowered to be Victors.
Think about it our best victories or wins in life were the ones we were actively involved in, the ones we thought we wouldn’t make it through but did.
Have a fruitful week.
