"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go."
In Joshua chapter 1, Joshua is on a mission to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Throughout this journey, God tells Joshua several times to "Be strong and courageous."
Joshua must have been terrified. He had to defeat several enemies with powerful armies before entering the Promised Land. And God tells him to do something in the face of all these enemies he knows he must encounter. God says in verse 9, "Be strong and courageous." Then He tells him what not to do: "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
I believe God wants you to know today that just because you feel discouraged doesn't mean you have to be discouraged. And just because you have fear doesn't mean fear has to have you.
The real enemy to your destiny is not a person, a group of people, or even a situation. So don't spend your whole life fighting all the wrong things. Choose to acknowledge the real enemy and fight against fear and discouragement. If you can defeat those enemies, then nothing can keep you from moving forward into your destiny!
