Thursday 19 January 2017; Waking Faith By Steven Furtick - Me First

 Genesis 25:26

"After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so he was named Jacob."

To be the firstborn in the time of Jacob's birth meant you had more rights and privileges than your other siblings. When it came to the inheritance, if you were the firstborn, you got a much bigger piece of the pie. No wonder Jacob wanted to be first.

The truth is, every single one of us, no matter our birth order, is born with a "me first" mentality. We are selfish by nature.

But Jesus said the way it actually works in the Kingdom is, "many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first" (Matthew 19:30). In other words, it's not always the ones who get ahead that really are ahead.

The reality is, it's a small way to live to never have a bigger thought than, "What's best for me?" And ultimately, this mindset leads to misery. A fulfilling life is more than obtaining a status or stuff.

By losing yourself to His purposes, you will gain far more than you ever dreamed.

PRAISES WITH NO BOUNDARIES

It sounds absurd to tell a person who has just been told by a doctor that they have just two weeks to live, to praise God; like seriously are you for real! who does that in this world except Christians? Those crazy folks, who give thanks to God even when their young wards leave them behind to go to the grave beyond. They say in everything; and for everything, giving praise to God is of utmost importance.
