Hebrews 11:3, NKJV
"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."What if I told you that you could experience greater faith with one decision?
Faith is powered by focus, and focus is determined by who and what we allow into the frame of our lives.
The verse above says that God's framework for the universe was His Word. God framed and built the world, which is visible, through the Word, which is invisible. Now, we as His children get to imitate Him in our own lives through faith. That is, we get to take the same stuff that God used to frame the world and frame our lives with it if we choose to.
The same Word of God that framed the world can frame every situation in our everyday lives.
Hebrews chapters 11 and 12 give us a picture of real faith. They show us that "Faith is the substance of things hoped for" and that "Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith." These two bookends serve as the framework of our faith.
When Peter was walking on water toward Jesus, he began to sink because he let the wind and the waves into his frame. He took his focus off Jesus.
When we allow things into the framework of our lives that break our focus, our faith is weakened.
If you choose to wake up and frame your day with the anticipation of depression and discouragement instead of looking to God's Word and expecting His goodness, you're sabotaging the outcome of your day before it has even begun!
The writer of Psalm 118 had the right idea. In verse 24 (NKJV), he said, "This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." What's he doing? He's framing his day for greatness, joy, and celebration.
So, what's your frame today?
