Tuesday 5th July 2016; Daily Devotional By Joyce Meyer - Focus Forward

Philippians 3:12-14

Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

If you have been miserable because of the things that have happened in your past, I encourage you to do as I did and set your focus in a new direction. Determine to be what God wants you to be, to have what God wants you to have, and to receive what Jesus died to give you.

When you feel discouraged, say, ā€œI am not going to live in bondage anymore. I cannot do anything about what I have done in the past, but I can do something about my future. I am going to enjoy my life and have what Jesus died for me to have. I am going to let go of the past and go on pursuing God from this day forth!ā€

PRAISES WITH NO BOUNDARIES

It sounds absurd to tell a person who has just been told by a doctor that they have just two weeks to live, to praise God; like seriously are you for real! who does that in this world except Christians? Those crazy folks, who give thanks to God even when their young wards leave them behind to go to the grave beyond. They say in everything; and for everything, giving praise to God is of utmost importance.
